Write up on the Anarchy Realms action economy now up for supporters. Will be making it publicly available after the release to the main Anarchy Realms website is posted up later this year.
A great deal of number adjustments still have to occur before full release, but the actual system is working like a dream!

Been dealing with a horrible headache all day. Its been rough rough rough. I was able to share a bit of my action card design concepts with my players and family, and I got super good feedback (essentially the design is 80% easy to grok); the only difficulty is the cooldown/recharge mechanic not being build in to understand with just the card. The simplicity of the cards makes this even better too!

Am I supposed to feel bad for Cybertruck owners when the car gets bricked?
You knew the shit Emu was putting his products out as and you still bought it.
I was hoping that he would have lost enough money on X that he would have had to sell off Tesla and maybe someone competent would have taken over, but no, we should be treating Tesla as if its some of the most overly expensive POS vehicles you can find out there and just stop putting money into them.
If you have enough money to buy a Tesla and you do, in this year 2024.... you are a stupid person.
Super excited to announce that the last bit of the action economy of Anarchy Realms has been figured out! All that's left is playtesting numbers!
I'll be doing a full post on it later for supporters! Look forward to it!
Once the playtesting is done it'll be posted to https://www.anarchyrealms.com/ for FREE!
I'll also be creating pdfs for people to use to print out the cards!

How many people who play 5e have added the less known homebrew of making disengage include a 5 foot step?
So my players did a great set of rescue maneuvers! Fairy Rune Knight went large and picked up two of them, and the Aarakocra Monk (using new monk Step) got two people, one with the step come along feature and the other with a carry!
Battlefield level view of my players rescuing a drow scouting party from zombie ghost harengon.
I wish more miniatures with new dnd species would be made. I can't even run a cool Loxodon town!
So I did the verification link for https://www.anarchyrealms.com/ to here, but like, my link isn't showing up as verified on my bio.... what am I missing?
I am so exhausted from seeing women not be GMs in ttrpgs because they feel they HAVE to know all the rules to do it.
And I know WHY they feel this way. Hell, I know exactly how a table of "males" would react to a bad rules call, and how much worse they would be to a femme GM.
But I really want to try and find a way to get these potentially awesome GMs into girlbossing their way into these roles.
#ttrpg #womeninttrpg #women #gamers
Everybody is going no initiative, but my favorite games have very specific use of initiative.... like Final Fantasy Tactics, or very specific use of cooldowns, like Guild Wars 2, League of Legends, and almost any other MMO and MOBA out there.
So I feel like exploring a more Initiative focused space might give us something we are missing, even though "combat" might take longer.
Which is where my one action per turn, multiple turns per round idea came in. If you can only do one thing on your turn, you do it and that's it. You can hope that things will be in the same spot when your turn comes back up, but when does that happen?
So do your action! Then someone else gets to go. The board state is always moving one step at a time.
My current design issue with this, is making it easier for a Game Master to run the monsters in this style of system. But the system itself works great!
So I'm looking to GM-less games, for inspiration.

To my supporters, new post is up!
Stop waiting to become a villain in someone else's story. You don't need a protagonist to be a villain.
Do it your damn self!
Like a frog who dreams of being a prince, but is really just a frog, I dream of being better at making metaphors.
I was told, "Be Gay, do Crimes" and I haven't met Crimes yet, but you better bet his ass is mine when I see him.
Adventure books have trouble coming up with a narrative after level 12, because the variables that players can achieve are too great to account for to have a storyline that can be followed.
So is this an issue with high level magic and casting in D&D becoming too.... wild in its ability? Spells that clone you with all spell slots that last indefinitely is way out of scope compared to an Ice Storm or a Cone of Cold.....
Low level (like 1st-4th level) D&D5e and high level (13+) require the same accommodations to prevent them from being murder slog fests.
You need to push for alternate routes, give conversations mattering a chance, and have stakes other than player character death on the line.
Or else you risk senseless TPKs, boring punching bag fights, and cheese strategies.
But those things tend to be forgotten about for levels 5-12, where player power and agency is JUUUUUUUuuuuuuuuuST right for combat and normal standard ways of tackling issues. Interestingly that's also the levels in which 5e is most popular. People always want to start as close to level 5 (if not level 5) as possible, and the DM starts checking out usually around level 12.

Small description of the Elements system basic concept for those supporting me on Ko-fi! The conversation will be expanding as I begin to convert my test information into an alpha version of the system!

@scottfgray okay I found something where we differ. I by default round up on divisions.
@scottfgray okay hold up you set a boon/bane limit of d4-d12 .... that is literally my whole system! Hold up let's go! Can I continue to share a brain-cell with you? Seriously!
Sending more praise to Core20 by @scottfgray : The game references boons and banes (which I have as boons and conditions, but had been considering bane) and just being on the same mental wavelength as another designer makes me feel good.
#core20rpg #ttrpg #anarchyrealms
Bugbears..... are Boogey Monsters. Like literally same word origin. Bug and boogey both mean Scary thing. Bear/Monster is known. So a bugbear is just a scary hairy thing in the forest. And a boogey monster is a scary thing in the house/closet/under the bed.
They are.... etymologically, the same creature.
I want to do something with that.
So I'm checking out @scottfgray 's core20rpg, and I tried to read the players guide and its a bit too noisy for me. I'll have to come back to it. But I jumped into the playtest creature package and, wow! I love the addition of space information for the creature size! Not only that a lot of the actions are easy to read and grok in one go. This is a GREAT addition to monster manuals, and a huge BOON to GMs everywhere! So it goes 10feet long, 10 feet wide, 5 feet tall, 22 foot wingspan. That amount of detail saves ME so much brain power! Genuinely, genuinely love it. I will have to wake up in the morning and try to parse the Handbook because I want to see what they did with classless design. Huge fan already!
Article from Kobold Press about their Tales of the Valiant 5e game announced that they are identifying the different types of people as lineages instead of species.
https://koboldpress.com/tov-tuesday-tales-out-of-school/
They said it was they ended up feeling most comfortable with, while keeping a balance between feeling like fantasy and not going full on sci-fi. Solid first point, and something that I myself have been trying to figure out. Lineage was the lowest on the poll of 17 people, with Ancestry being the highest preferred option.
Just sharing because I think its interesting how diverse the ideas are when talking about it, especially in the format of a fantasy game.
Doing a full restart. Super scuffed Monday!!!!! Aaaaaaaaaaargh!!!
Everything is crashing!!!!! Aaaaahh! 🔥 🔥 🔥

Going live with some swashless roguelocking!
#swashbuckler #rogue #fathomless #warlock #dnd5e #BG3 #bg3mods
Set up a map with 9 monsters as 5 different groups all independently happening to run into the players, leading to a three hour fight covering 18 seconds of gameplay.
It was glorious.
This was followed by vore, and a haunted house situation.
Great #dnd5e day.

Going over Anarachy Realms, and talking about design, and next steps and what is coming soon!
Racism in TTRPGs
There's so much thinking I have to do to handle having different kinds of people in a #ttrpg. So D&D has been going down into a whole Species description, which honestly sounds worst to me than race, even with the concept of race being non-scientific. But they also went on to remove Half-Elf, which yeah, the TERM is a concern because it centers humanity, and doesn't answer what the other half is (it is assumed to be human).
Which when you say that Elf is a race, and we understand race as being the same species, it has this whole mottled connection with white supremacy, its language and ideas, just baked into what something is.
But... as a latinx individual who grew up in latinx communities but was called a gringo, and then treated as non-white by white people (omg yes I know, the wha wha refrain of everyone like me), having half elf representation, especially in characters like Tanis Half-Elven, helped me a great deal!
Wednesday d&d was fun! We did a DM rotation today. So every adventure we rotate DMs and we run one shot style content for the level people are at. Usually you level up afterwards. We are at a really interesting crossroads of level 7. Very similar to level 4, where you are almost getting some better numbers but you are kinda punching up on the monster difficulty. Level 8 you get ASI and Level 9 you get a prof bonus boost to +4. So yeah, 7th level is really tough.
Watching Quiet on the Set and its leaving me fucked up.
I was thinking that for print publishing I was gonna style my ttrpg like a zine. Just full punk aesthetic!
Skills have different ways of using them. Some provide you with remembering information. Others are understanding the information in front of you. And others are using the information.
Arcana - Knowledge, I remember that demons often have resistances to Fire and Poison.
Arcana - Analysis, This demon has immunity to Fire and Poison.
Arcana - Use, Activate this magic device to summon a Gem Immune demon.
What other ways have you guys noticed we use skills and what skills do you think are missing in 5e?
Playing ttrpg today! Honestly, Larian Studio is abandoning WotC, and I want to as well. But not for PF2e. PF2e is close to what I want, but I need to edit it a lot to get it to what I want, and their view on magic is to depower it too much for my taste.
I want something that has layers of difficulty, so that a player that wants a simple game and a more complicated game, can play in the same group.
Had such a rough morning. Then I go to stream and obs crashes, and I don't notice because I'm in the game. I stop, notice I only have less than half an hour of streaming and all my streaming work was useless, and it explains why I didn't see the bot promoting in the chat. So I quit the game, and half my programs are frozen, so I restart, eat lunch early, and scroll tiktok. I'll try to stream again either Sunday or Monday. It's not a big deal. There's no rush. But I'd rather put the rest of my energy to working on prepping for my D&D game tomorrow.
Been checking out a lot of people talking about Dagger Heart. It has a lot of similar goals to Anarchy Realms, bit it's funny seeing how different things are for things we are trying to do different. What I'm saying is the differences are very different.
I tried to do the beta, but it is not structured in a way for you to browse it. Instead you have to print it out to parse it. I really don't like that.
#daggerheart #anarchyrealms #ttrpg
Dagger Heart and so many other TTRPGs try to negate the use of initiative, but all my favorite games use it: D&D, PF2e, FFX, FFT.
So in fact, Anarchy Realm's Initiative System is CLOSER to Final Fantasy Tactics, allowing you to do such crazy things as casting an Explosion on an ally, and having them run into enemies so that the explosion triggers further away than you could have cast it!

So frustrating! My last stream, the game didn't save, so I had to redo the last hour of gameplay with save scumming just to get it as close to the results as the live run!

Testing real dnd5e builds in Baldur's Gate 3!
Skip provides grants and micro-loans in different ways. You can check them out if you have a start-up and are looking for a place to try to get funding.
Anarchy Realms is a six attribute system, with a combination of soft and hard meanings for each attribute. Think of it as an expansion of BESM tri-stat more than a renaming of D&D stats.
Anarchy Realms uses, Mind, Body, Soul, Blood, Heart and Bone. With the attributes paired in purpose for different things, while covering different soft skills. You want more health but are not a physical type strong man? Then lean more on your Heart, as your Health Pool is resourced from the higher stat of Body or Heart. This continues for the other attributes.
Really excited to announce that the start of Chapter 1 is posted on the Anarchy Realms website! The game itself will be freely available online, and I'll be putting together a book after for those who want to have the ability to pull up a pdf or printout.

Okay, so I ended up with the IFTTT solution to take my posts here, and auto post them to my blog, which I was able to include into my website. So... I got that going for me! Since the test worked, I'll definitely be posting here more.
Honestly, for the price IFTTT has been great, but I'm locked in at a legacy rate, so not sure how that goes for other people.
I honestly just want to be able to get feed data and display links from Mastodon onto my website and Google pages in an easy way. But those places don't have Mastodon as an option so I have to figure out manual ways or ways of using RSS to autofeed into my other things. I'm trying with IFTTT. I'll post more once I know other people can see this stuff easily and in a way that isn't going to cost me 20$ a month or more.
