It also puts what used to be in different sections all in one place. There were small bits of mounted combat information that you had to guess or gleam from other areas and what other items did. This puts it all together organized and adds details such as how to handle untrained mounts, and getting more out of a trained mount, or even an intelligent mount.

Currently, if you ride a dragon in 5e and share initiative with it so you can have its movement, the dragon is not allowed to attack. These updated rules allow for better, more realistic, and cooler fights on top of exceptional mounts.
